BADEF , proposes a three-day, practice-oriented legal training in Nairobi to strengthen the capacity of Somali civil society organizations (CSOs) to support trafficking-affected persons through accurate identification, survivor-centred engagement, safe documentation, and effective coordination with legal service providers and relevant justice actors. Trafficking in persons remains a complex protection and justice challenge affecting women, men and children, often occurring alongside mixed migration, displacement, labour exploitation, and gender-based violence. In many contexts, CSOs are the first point of contact for individuals at risk, yet they frequently operate with limited access to specialized legal guidance, inconsistent documentation practices, and fragmented referral pathways. As the EHAAT Regional Routes Mapping 2025 indicated, effective legal support is essential for a better case outcome for victims of trafficking (VoTs). This training responds to these operational gaps by strengthening practical legal competence and improving coordination protocols that enable survivors to access protection and legal remedies safely and effectively.
